What's Hot - Black and White Interiors!

With all the rain we've been having in SEQ, we're wishing Winter away and looking forward to Spring!  The big department stores have launched their Summer fashion range and we're seeing the same trends in furnishings and homewares.

Black and White is extremely popular as well as bright colours!

Here's a focus on some of my favourite looks B & W looks.

Black and White is so versatile and can be used in a formal or more rustic/country style such as this image from The House of the Smiths blog

Bye Bye Winter, Hello Spring!

Last Day of Winter today and we were treated with another sunny blue sky gorgeous day in Brisbane!

Glorious white captures a Wintery mood for this day bed image zainteriora.net

Here's another Winter Daybed scene.

This has a lovely cosy warm feel due to the rug and woollen blanket with the sun streaming in the large windows. image designlike

Now it's time to put away the blankets and celebrate as it's Spring Eve.

While this interior has a lot of white like the first "Wintery"  daybed picture, this interior has warmth due to the lattice print cushions and upholstery, the natural coloured matt and timber floor.

Florals will give you a Spring look every time.  I love the blue and white combination of floral lattice wallpaper, and floral wallpaper lined cabinet image yvonnehellier.com

Planning for Spring it's just around the corner!

It's a great time to start thinking about freshening up your home with Spring just a few days away.

Open shelving is a great way to store and display your favourite things! image vi.sualize
It might be just giving your rooms a good once over dusting and rearranging shelves, or treating yourself to something new and bright.

Brisbane's Thea & Sami have great bright hand printed fabrics and these gorgeous cushions would brighten any room!
It's also a good time to paint before the summer wet weather sets in.

I've recommended Dulux design rust paint to a client recently.  This paint is suitable for interior and exterior use.  It's applied in two parts firstly the base coat and then the rust solution by brush only.

For more information go on Design Rust paint go to Dulux

The paint would give a similar finish to this gate from Lump

Spring is here!

I just got my October issue of Home Beautiful and I've been enjoying flipping through the pages of another super issue.  It really has some great inspiration every month to get you thinking of an update to your home whether it is small or large!

Mara's Editorial is spot on!  Renovating is not just about profit but it's about making a house a home and making your renovation functional to suit your lifestyle!

I am always inspired by images I see and I keep these in a file so I can reference these for my own projects and for projects I'm working on.

So here's the things I've spied recently!

Don't forget all the beautiful Flowers that come with spring time!   So get planting! or buy some flowers to brighten a room.  Floral themes are still extremely popular and here's one that caught my eye.

I love this country style room with a homage to Laura Ashley!  and the lovely cornflower blue and white pallette! image Best Interior

I love this bumpy style grass! Not only for the look but for the low maintenance "no mow" quality! image tranquilhavens it is known as "Zoysia Tenuifolia" can create some interest in a small backyard.
Bus Scroll Art is still popular!  I've been working on a mural "music" style for my husband's man cave that I'm hoping to have finished at the end of the week so I can show you all my hard work!  A belated Father's Day pressie. image busandtramscrolls.com.au
