Bye Bye Winter, Hello Spring!

Last Day of Winter today and we were treated with another sunny blue sky gorgeous day in Brisbane!

Glorious white captures a Wintery mood for this day bed image zainteriora.net

Here's another Winter Daybed scene.

This has a lovely cosy warm feel due to the rug and woollen blanket with the sun streaming in the large windows. image designlike

Now it's time to put away the blankets and celebrate as it's Spring Eve.

While this interior has a lot of white like the first "Wintery"  daybed picture, this interior has warmth due to the lattice print cushions and upholstery, the natural coloured matt and timber floor.

Florals will give you a Spring look every time.  I love the blue and white combination of floral lattice wallpaper, and floral wallpaper lined cabinet image yvonnehellier.com

Planning for Spring it's just around the corner!

It's a great time to start thinking about freshening up your home with Spring just a few days away.

Open shelving is a great way to store and display your favourite things! image vi.sualize
It might be just giving your rooms a good once over dusting and rearranging shelves, or treating yourself to something new and bright.

Brisbane's Thea & Sami have great bright hand printed fabrics and these gorgeous cushions would brighten any room!
It's also a good time to paint before the summer wet weather sets in.

I've recommended Dulux design rust paint to a client recently.  This paint is suitable for interior and exterior use.  It's applied in two parts firstly the base coat and then the rust solution by brush only.

For more information go on Design Rust paint go to Dulux

The paint would give a similar finish to this gate from Lump

Painting Complete - Big Reveal out the back!

Very excited that all my painting is complete and I can share with you the finished look for all my hard work!
A nice sunny spot on a winters day!  If it gets chilly a nice soft warm rug from BBNT.

Pretty Begonias brighten the outdoor space
New cushions on my outdoor lounge hand made by me - the perfect spot to enjoy a book or a magazine!  My hubby says oh no not more cushions! You can also see a little bit of the landscaping part 2 which needs some spring weather to give the plants a boost!

Hanging lanterns by day add interest and by night set the mood!

We love our new bar table many a good night has been had, and it's a great breakfast spot too.

Enjoy this beautiful Sunday no matter what you're up to!

The paint colours again are Dulux Natural Stone on the weatherboards, Ironstone for the window sills and trims and Antique White USA for the windows.  NO more mustard walls.

Big Reveal My Painting is Complete!

I've finally finished all of my painting with just a few touch ups required here and there! But I'm calling it a day with the front and back of the house complete as I've got a little busy with work and will call in the professional painters now to finish off the sides of the house.  I will appreciate all their hard work so much more after completing all that painting myself!

I can now reveal the front of the house before and after with a bold change - a red front door!

                           Before                         After

I chose Bristol Gloss "Adam's Red" for the front door colour. To get a deep rich colour took about 4 coats but I'm very happy with the result. The door frame and architrave is Dulux Antique White USA.

The main wall colour (weatherboards) is Dulux Natural Stone and the window sill/trim, and threshold is Gloss "Ironstone" (standard Colorbond colour) and the windows are Dulux Antique White USA like the Door frame.

Little Cove Design can provide you with a professional colour consulting service and advise selections from all of the reputable paint manufacturers available. So take a look at the colour page on our blog for more details.

I made some cushions from the same fabric as the table cloth from a few weeks ago and treated my plants to new red fibreglass pots and now I can relax and enjoy all of my hard work!

Reveal for the entertaining area out the back is a few weeks away, stay tuned!

Holiday Style

When it's time for a holiday, and you can't have one. Then the next best thing is to dream about one!
What could be more romantic than a snowy getaway? This gorgeous ski lodge may be far away from Sunny Brisvegas, but it congers up images of a crackling fireplace and toasting marshmallows! image blisstree.com

For something closer to home and to escape the Winter chill here's a few places to keep you island dreaming.
